Colorado Springs Biblical Engagement Forum

I love this town.  Other than Jerusalem and NYC, there’s not a place in the world I’d rather be. This is where I grew up.  It’s where I met and fell in love with my wife.  I’ve helped plant churches here; led Bible studies; and even served as a staff member of First Southern Baptist Church.

I love the people of Colorado Springs just as much. And that’s why I sent you the email you just clicked on.  I’ve learned that as the churches of Colorado Springs go, so goes the whole city.

My name is David S. Jesse.  I’ve recently resigned from my position as Vice President of Promise Keepers for one purpose: to do anything and everything I can to make sure “the people in the pews” get excited about reading the Bible for themselves.  Why?

Because I was one of those church attenders…members…staff…who simply went through the motions when it came to this important spiritual discipline.  And my life collapsed because of it. (If you want to read that story, CLICK HERE)

But God is good.  He used my beautiful, amazing, and brilliant wife to give me a kick in the pants to start getting serious about Bible reading.  And God rebuilt my life and ministry, eventually allowing me the honor to help lead Promise Keepers, while also being privileged to speak to men and women all around the world about the importance of Bible engagement. Now, the realization that men and women in our churches are  like I was – struggling for their spiritual survival because they don’t practice this simple habit – keeps me awake at night.   (Here’s an article I recently wrote about this issue: CLICK HERE)

That’s why I reached out to you.  I need your help.  I want to gather a small group of pastors together – no more than ten – to discuss what pastors and churches are doing to drive Biblical engagement in their congregations.

This isn’t designed to be a lecture.  I don’t plan on doing anything more than facilitating a discussion among the pastors in the room.  I want to hear what YOU are doing.  I want to learn from YOU.

You need to be there.  There are pastors who will be in that room who need to hear something very specific from you.  And you need to hear from them.

God has a plan for the Church in Colorado Springs.  Take an afternoon to be a part of it.

Here are the details:
  • WHAT: Colorado Springs Biblical Engagement Forum – “What Are You Doing to Encourage Your Members to Read the Bible?”
  • WHEN: Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 2pm to 3:30pm
  • WHERE: Colorado Christian University – Colorado Springs Campus, 1125 Kelly Johnson Boulevard, Colorado Springs, CO 80920 (Someone will be at the entrance to greet you and direct you to the proper room)

In an effort to encourage in-depth discussion, the size of the group will be limited to 10 pastors.  Please sign up today by completing this form.  You will receive an email within 24 hours confirming your registration.

God bless you,

David S. Jesse – “The Bow Tie Bible Guy”
